[Bucky lets him work, eyes drifting off at nothing in particular, but when he hears the sound of the band-aid wrapper opening he looks over. It's then that he sees the...cartoons on it, and he just looks confused at the whole thing. What the hell are those things supposed to be? He'd ask, but Scott is asking him a question of his own so he looks back at him again.]
Yeah, I should be. [It takes some effort, and he still doesn't quite let go of the wall just yet, but he manages to get up. The pain along his ribs makes it hard to stand up straight, but hey. At least he's standing so that's something.]
Hey-- ( scott nearly reaches out to steady bucky himself, but he holds himself back. he's not sure what might count as too much; they haven't exactly sat down to discuss shit like that, after all. so instead he picks his helmet up, his free hand extended and the corner of his mouth pulled into an awkward smile. )
Nothing wrong with accepting help, man. You can lean on me if you want.
[Theres nothing wrong with accepting help, but for Bucky it's almost an unknown concept. He's still trying to get used to working with others - Hell, he hasn't even informed Steve that he got his ass stomped on - so he almost looks like a wounded animal trying to figure whether or not it was okay to accept the hand being offered.
Scott had helped him, though. He'd still be struggling to breathe if it wasn't for him. Technically he didn't have to fly out here, so after a moment he accepts his assistance and leans against him so that he can walk without toppling over.]
No, uh--just me. And my ants, but nobody else seems to speak ant, so you should be fine.
( that's supposed to be an attempt at a joke because scott likes to diffuse things with humour. it occurs to him, however, that he can't shrink bucky and take him back with him on an ant (or at least he doesn't want to risk any more exposure to the pym particle than is necessary; he's sure bucky's brain chemistry has suffered enough), and that he doesn't have a car.
sometimes scott really has to rethink these plans of his before actually going through with them. )
Hey, um-- ( they're leaving the warehouse now, matching footsteps and scott's arm still firm where he holds bucky up. ) --how opposed are you to piggyback rides?
[ The joke makes Bucky let out a short huff. It can probably be considered a small chuckle, but it's hard to tell. Still, since he's so close to Scott, it's probably impossible to hide.
When Scott asks about piggyback rides, Bucky is almost sure that he's probably joking again...but then he glances over and sees that he isn't. Does he really think he can give him a ride? ]
I'm going to go with an adamant no on that one. Besides, I don't think you can carry me. [ He sounds a little breathless, but he takes in a slow deep breath as if to let his lungs catch up with breathing. ] ...you can't hot wire a car? I mean, I can do it if you don't want to.
